This is an academic website rather than something from social media, making the information more reliable. It discusses how technological advances have transformed photographs from being one of the most trustworthy, realistic ways to record things, to them becoming susceptible to editing. This is relevant as it explains why recently the effects of image manipulation have been more drastic: because image software has became more advanced. I plan to incorporate a table into my research, revealing the rising number of children with insecurities about their appearance, and link it to edited images. The website also questions the argument between ethics and aesthetics which surrounds this topic. Finally it mentions the purpose of visual editing, which perhaps reveals some of the positive outcomes that editing causes.
